Situated on 4,000 m² of sea-facing cliffside this luxury development proposes four contemporary villas that have been carved into the rock to merge with the landscape. The modern yet timeless qualities of this luxury villas development are enhanced by the sophisticated material palette that includes clear glazing and local stone combined with exposed concrete.
Montebello won the Residential Development (2–9 Units) category at the European Property Awards 2024–2025.
The design for the villas takes full advantage of the steep inclination of the site (over 20 m height difference between bottom and top of the site) to ensure that each room in every villa benefits from unobstructed sea views. The plot has been divided into four separate parcels of land on which the villas have been positioned to ensure both privacy and minimal overlooking. All four villas benefit from large swimming pools and terraces with outdoor dining areas.
There are two 5-bedroom bottom villas arranged over three floors. Located at the basement level are a 3-car garage, a gym and a large storage room. This level is accessed through individual gates directly from the bottom road. Both villas offer an ample 20 metre long open-plan living and dining space as well as a guest bedroom with an en-suite bathroom on the ground level. To allow for uninterrupted sea views the staircase connecting all three levels is concealed at the back of the house along the cliff face.
A sliding door system enables the entire living room façade to be retracted, combining the large double-height living space with the terrace. There are four sea-facing bedrooms and two master bedrooms at the top level, all of which have en-suite bathrooms.
The top two 4-bedroom villas are arranged over three floors and are accessed via the top level from the road located at the top of the site. A 2-car garage, a gym, and an en-suite guest bedroom are found on the top floor, while three generous bedrooms are positioned on the first level. The living areas, dining room and open plan kitchen are located at the bottom level with the pool and the pool terrace. The double-height living room is designed much like the first type to allow for the sliding door system to be retracted and combine the living space with the terrace.
