This year's Architecutre Rooms were curated by Assemble, who "encouraged submissions around the idea of ‘Space for Making’ – inviting pieces that focus and reflect on making as a process".
'Coastal Guardian' was originally a commissioned collaboration with Loco Design for our exhibition Reflection—Projection last November. Crafted from stainless steel, it is a maquette of our 2011 proposal for Sivriada Island, a mixed-use cultural island destination in the Sea of Marmara. Measuring 76 x 42 x 20 cm, the model perches on a charred wood base made specifically for the Summer Exhibition by London-based craftsman, Minh Le Pham.

The second piece is a photographic print, 'Exhibiting the Process', taken by our Head of Brand & Creative, Joseph R. Goodwin, during a visit to one of Loco Design's manufacturing facilities in Gurugram. All three of the models for Reflection—Project were fabricated by hand over four weeks, and the photo features the 1.46 metre-long sectional model of our concept for The University of Limassol's new campus.

The photograph forms part of a series that "aims to celebrate maker spaces and reflect on the propensity for processes to remain hidden"
The model shows a 500 metre section of the 242,924 m² university campus designed with J+A Philippou for BBF and comprises a walnut base with oak and cherry detailing encased in laminated glass.

This year's Summer Exhibition runs for two months until Sunday 18th August.
