Over 2000 sweets were used to create the Liquorice Parliament, where a majority is currently held by the Green Gummy Bear party. Inside the parliament the Speaker Bear and Chief Whisk look on as the Gummy Budget is being delivered in the traditional red budget box. You can see meetings and presentations continuing in the adjoining rooms, while members of the Gummy public look on from the roof terraces above.
Combining power and play the new parliament is topped by seven levels of terraced roof gardens that create a civic tapestry of celebration, competition, growing, learning, performing, playing, and relaxing for all ages. The layered landscape includes street food markets, festivals, sundecks, chess tournaments, and even a Gummy HYROX!
Our team of 7 bakers, designers, glassblowers, and model-makers designed, baked, and built the Liquorice Parliament using over 2kg of treacle, 1kg of butter, and 15g of powdered charcoal.
And to top it all off, we're honoured to have been voted by the public once again as one of the Visitor's Favourites!
