With one month to go, we're thrilled to announce that we'll be returning to the second edition of Mumbai's Architecture & Design Film Festival with Pentad, our pop-up parliament.
Pentad reimagines the spaces where decisions are made, transforming the idea of parliament from a fortified, mono-functional interior into an open, participatory civic landscape. Located in dialogue with the NCPA’s Experimental Theatre, the pavilion operates as both stage and stalls, casting visitors as actors and audience.
Each pavilion will serve as a spatial provocation — responding to contemporary design discourse and inviting the public into a dialogue with form, space, and context.
2026 Pavilion Park brief
Following from the success of last year's festival, 50 architects and designers were invited to respond to the brief, written by curator Aric Chen, Director of the Zaha Hadid Foundation.
From a shortlist of 14 proposals, ours was selected by the jury as one of the 10 pavilions that will make up the 2026 Jaquar Pavilion Park.
The 2026 jury is formed from an international cast of enigmatic designers and thinkers:
Hans Ulrich Obrist Artistic Director, Serpentine Galleries, London
Lesley Lokko OBE Founder, African Futures Institute; Curator, Venice Architecture Biennale 2023, RIBA Gold Medalist 2024
Raj Rewal Founder, Raj Rewal Associates, New Delhi
Ma Yansong Founder, MAD Architects, Beijing
Martha Thorne Former Executive Director, Pritzker Architecture Prize
It’s a scheme that I really love...
I always kind of see things through a slightly geopolitical lens, so it resonated with me automatically
Aric Chen, ADFF:STIR Mumbai 2026 Pavilion Park Curator
Composed of two interconnected chambers, Pentad brings together five global modes of assembly—circular, semicircular, horseshoe, opposing benches and classroom—allowing space to be continuously reconfigure through use.
We feel a great privilege and responsibility as the only international studio chosen to deliver a pavilion at this year's festival, and look forward to seeing all of the concepts brought to life in the NCPA gardens and beyond
